Firestone Center

The Firestone Center for Restoration Ecology is a 60 hectare reserve in Costa Rica donated to Pitzer College in 2005 by the conservationist Diane Firestone. A former cattle ranch, the Firestone Reserve is now a flourishing sanctuary for native plants and wildlife. The property is home to the Firestone Center, which serves as a base for undergraduate education and research. Students with some Spanish proficiency have the opportunity to study abroad for a semester in Costa Rica while doing research on the Firestone Center property.

For more information, visit Pitzer’s webpage or the Keck Science Department’s website about the Firestone Center.
