Summer Design Fellowship Program

Funded by the Hive and generous donors, the Hive Summer Design Fellowship Program was developed to directly engage with students’ desire to apply design thinking in the world for positive social impact. The program aims to address issues based on current events and context, and student interest. The summer program empowers passionate college students to solve ambitious and ambiguous problems through a combination of equity-based, human-centered design and systems thinking. Small student teams are mentored by Hive staff and work directly with real-world partner organizations.

Creative exploration, right-brained thinking, and fresh ideas from the next generation of leaders are vital to addressing complex societal issues, from climate change to racial injustice to public health crises. This program trains students in these methods and nurtures their great potential to become positive change makers in the world.
