Equestrian

The Claremont Colleges Equestrian Team is a 5C club sport that allows students enthusiastic about horses and equestrian sport to participate in lessons and compete in Zone 8 Region 2 of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). Our team is comprised of both recreational and competitive riders with a wide array of skill levels. All riders take at least one lesson a week with our team’s trainer in Covina Hills, CA. Competitive riders show at approximately 4 days of competition per year with one competition in the first semester and one competition in the second semester. We compete against IHSA teams from University of Southern California, Arizona State University, Cal Poly Pomona, and ten other schools in Southern California and Arizona. The Claremont Colleges Equestrian Team encourages team building and camaraderie between riders from all five undergraduate colleges through competition, weekly group lessons, and other Equestrian Team events. In order to make the team accessible to as many students as possible, we provide multiple lesson and competition subsidies each semester to interested students. There is no prerequisite to join our team besides a love for horses and weekly commitment to lessons. Please follow us on social media or find our contact information on Engage for more information.
