To a mathematician studying topology, a donut\u00a0and a coffee cup (with a handle) are considered the \u201csame&#8221; shape because one can be continuously deformed into the other without cutting or gluing.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nIn this interactive session, we will explore the concept of shape equivalence by counting holes\u2014an essential feature in topology. Using Play-Doh and Wikki Stix, we will model different\u00a0shapes, test their flexibility, and determine whether they can be transformed into one another.
