Such data explosion necessitates the development of novel methods for studying large, noisy, and complex data. One interesting aspect of data is its shape and structure. In this talk, I will discuss recent developments in applied\u00a0topology\u00a0that studies the structure of data. In particular, I will show\u00a0how\u00a0constructions in\u00a0topology, such as homology and Dowker complexes, reveal interesting structures in data. I will discuss the mathematical challenges of extending\u00a0these constructions to data science, specifically in neuroscience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bio<\/strong>: Iris Yoon is an assistant professor of mathematics at Wesleyan University.
