Ongoing Events for 2025-2026<\/h1>\n

Guilt Free Book Club<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

This book club strives to be\u00a0guilt-free<\/strong><\/em> in every way. You don\u2019t need to have read to attend, and you are welcomed join in at any time \u2014 arriving late, leaving early, or missing a week is perfectly OK!<\/p>\n

We will meet every other week, starting August 2026. Meeting times, and place TBA. Lunch will be provided.<\/p>\n

Learning Communities<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

LCs are small groups of faculty\/instructors who come together regularly over the course of a year to discuss various aspects of their teaching, support each other, and\/or work together to solve a shared pedagogical problem or question. Each LC will meet every other week at a time and date determined by the group.<\/p>\n

First 5 Socials<\/strong><\/p>\n

Once a month (usually the last Thursday) CTL hosts a social evening for faculty in their first 5 years at the colleges. Check the calendar or join our mailing list for more details!<\/p>\n

Pre-Fall 2026 Upcoming Events<\/h1>\n

We have two types of sessions available before the start of the fall semester.\u00a0 The CTL’s Pre-Semester workshop<\/strong> is where we offer some practical and pedagogically sound advice for new (or returning!) faculty, drawn from the Faculty Co-directors\u2019 experience teaching here, and help new faculty get to know the CTL and connect with a community of fellow teachers. Drop-in hours<\/strong> where instructors can stop by to review syllabi, finalize canvas sites, make lesson plans for the first day, talk about AI, pick up the CTL book club book, etc.<\/p>\n

Teaching Tune-Up:The CTL’s Teaching Tune Up is a change to prepare for the Spring Semester. We’ll have structured sessions on Academic Dishonesty in the age of AI, Inclusive Assignments and Assessments, as well as an Info Session on our CTL Fellows program. We’ll also have drop-in consultations and quiet working space available all day, and a CTL Book Fair!<\/p>\n
