There are two kinds of resources available off campus:\u00a0confidential\u00a0and\u00a0non-confidential\u00a0(or mandated reporters).<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">The local police\/sheriff&#8217;s department, health care providers, medical examiners, and social workers\u00a0are examples of mandated reporters off campus.\u00a0This means that they are required by federal\u00a0law to report any instance of sexual violence or\u00a0dating\/domestic violence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Confidential resources are support resources that are not required by law to report any instance of sexual violence or dating\/domestic violence. They are a means to physically and psychologically aid survivors without the pressure of having to report.\u00a0Below is a list of support resources located off campus sorted by the type of support that they can provide.\u00a0All resources listed below are confidential, except for Pomona Valley Health Center, which is a non-confidential resource.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"comp-iu0dsciy\" class=\"txtNew\" data-packed=\"true\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"font_8\">Medical\/Physical<\/h4>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><strong>Pomona Valley Health Center<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\">909-865-9500<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\">1798 North Garey Avenue<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\">Pomona, CA 91767<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pvhmc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener undefined noreferrer\" data-content=\"https:\/\/www.pvhmc.org\/\" data-type=\"external\">Website<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_7\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"font_8\">Sexual Violence<\/h4>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><strong>Project Sister Sexual Assault 24\/7 Crisis Hotline (Pomona, CA)<\/strong><br \/>\nProject Sister Family Services provides services to\u00a0women, men, and child\u00a0survivors of sexual violence,\u00a0and their families, in the East San Gabriel and Inland Valleys in Southern California. Project Sister works with local law enforcement, district attorneys, courts, hospital and health care providers, schools, churches and other community groups and agencies.\u00a0Its mission is to reduce the trauma and risk of sexual violence and child abuse.\u00a0All services are provided in both English and Spanish.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">800-656-4673<br \/>\n909-626-HELP (909-626-4357)<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><a href=\"https:\/\/projectsister.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener undefined noreferrer\" data-content=\"https:\/\/projectsister.org\/\" data-type=\"external\">Website<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><strong>RAINN National Sexual Assault Crisis Hotline<\/strong><br \/>\nRAINN (Rape, Abuse &amp; Incest National Network), the national sexual assault crisis hotline, is a clearinghouse for local crisis hotlines. When a caller calls the hotline, a computer notes the area code and first three digits of the caller\u2019s phone number. The call is then instantaneously connected to the nearest RAINN member center. If all counselors at that center are busy, the call is sent to the next closest center. The caller\u2019s phone number is not retained, so the call is anonymous and confidential unless the caller chooses to share personally-identifying information.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">800-656-HOPE (800-656-4673)<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rainn.org\/get-help\/national-sexual-assault-hotline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener undefined noreferrer\" data-content=\"https:\/\/www.rainn.org\/get-help\/national-sexual-assault-hotline\" data-type=\"external\">Website<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><strong>RAINN National Sexual Assault Online Hotline<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Visit online.rainn.org to chat one-on-one 24\/7 with a RAINN support specialist to access a range of free services\u00a0including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"font_8\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Someone to help you talk through what happened<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Resources that can assist with your next steps toward healing and recovery<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Referrals for long term support in your area<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Information about the laws and resources in your community<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"font_8\">The Online Hotline works like other instant messaging and online chat systems, but with enhanced security measures. You&#8217;ll enter a private chat with a trained RAINN support specialist and chat live by typing messages back and forth. The service is completely anonymous and confidential\u2014RAINN will never ask you for any information that would identify who you are. You can feel free to share as much or as little as you like with the support specialist.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hotline.rainn.org\/online\/terms-of-service.jsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener undefined noreferrer\" data-content=\"https:\/\/hotline.rainn.org\/online\/terms-of-service.jsp\" data-type=\"external\">Website<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><strong>1in6 Online Support Groups and 24\/7 Helpline<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">1in6, a national non-profit organization, has launched a free &amp; anonymous online support group for men who have experienced sexual assault in adulthood. This group meets every Thursday 4pm-5:30pm Pacific Time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">The support group service functions similar to a chat room. During each 90-minute session, men from all over the world chat back and forth to share their experiences and offer support to other men in their journeys of trauma recovery. Each session is moderated by a licensed clinician who provides therapeutically-sound guidance, and a trained \u201cgatekeeper\u201d who reviews comments to ensure that the conversation remains safe. These sessions are currently limited to 12 users per group to ensure that each participant receives the attention and security they deserve.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">In addition to this new group, 1in6 continues to offer two groups per week for men who experienced childhood sexual abuse. These groups meet Mondays 7pm-8:30pm Pacific Time, and Wednesdays 5pm-6:30pm Pacific Time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">1in6 also provides a 24\/7 one-on-one helpline for men who have experienced sexual assault or abuse:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/1in6.org\/chat-with-someone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener undefined noreferrer\" data-content=\"https:\/\/1in6.org\/chat-with-someone\/\" data-type=\"external\">https:\/\/1in6.org\/chat-with-someone\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">The mission of 1in6 is to help men who have had unwanted or abusive sexual experiences live healthier, happier lives. 1in6 was founded in 2007, and its website was created in 2010, in response to a lack of resources addressing the impact of negative childhood sexual experiences on the lives of adult men. In 2016, 1in6 expanded its mission to include men who experienced sexual assault as adults.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><a href=\"https:\/\/1in6.org\/supportgroup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener undefined noreferrer\" data-content=\"https:\/\/1in6.org\/supportgroup\" data-type=\"external\">Website<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"font_8\">Child Abuse<\/h4>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><strong>Los Angeles County Child Protective Services Hotline (24\/7)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">The purpose and mission of the Child Protection Hotline (CPH) is: (1) to act as the central point of entry for calls to DCFS regarding the possible abuse and\/or neglect of children,\u00a0(2) to receive calls of abuse and neglect involving children and assess the level of endangerment, (3) to obtain factual information regarding a specific incident and generate a referral for investigation, if appropriate, (4) to document and transmit all referrals of child endangerment to the appropriate office, and (5) to\u00a0ensure child safety and protection.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">800-540-4000 (within California)<br \/>\n213-639-4500 (outside of California)<br \/>\n800-272-6699 (TDD)<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dcfs.lacounty.gov\/contactus\/childabuse.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener undefined noreferrer\" data-content=\"https:\/\/dcfs.lacounty.gov\/contactus\/childabuse.html\" data-type=\"external\">Website<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"color_23\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><strong>Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline<\/strong><br \/>\nChildhelp, a national child abuse hotline,\u00a0is dedicated to the prevention of child abuse. Serving the United States, its territories, and Canada, the Hotline is staffed\u00a024\/7\u00a0with professional crisis counselors who, through interpreters, can provide assistance in 170 languages. The Hotline offers crisis intervention, information, literature, and referrals to thousands of emergency, social service, and other\u00a0support resources. All calls are anonymous and confidential.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">800-4-A-Child (800-422-4453)<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.childhelp.org\/pages\/hotline-home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener undefined noreferrer\" data-content=\"https:\/\/www.childhelp.org\/pages\/hotline-home\" data-type=\"external\">Website<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"font_8\">Dating and Domestic Violence<\/h4>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><strong>House of Ruth<\/strong><br \/>\nHouse of Ruth provides advocacy and assistance to women and children affected by domestic violence by providing culturally competent shelter, programs, opportunities, and education. Participation in House of Ruth programming is open to all battered individuals. Many of House of Ruth\u2019s services are available in both Spanish and English and are free of charge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">877-988-5559 (toll-free hotline)<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">909-623-4364\u00a0(Pomona Outreach Office)<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><a href=\"https:\/\/houseofruthinc.org\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener undefined noreferrer\" data-content=\"https:\/\/houseofruthinc.org\/home\" data-type=\"external\">Website<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><strong>National Domestic Violence Hotline<\/strong><br \/>\nThe hotline provides 24\/7 help to survivors and anyone calling on their behalf through crisis intervention, safety planning, information, and referrals to agencies in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
