Susan Castagnetto has served as Director since 1999.\u00a0 She also teaches courses in Gender & Women’s Studies and Philosophy at Scripps College and Pomona College, including Philosophy of Feminism, Feminist Ethics, Feminism and Science, and Women, Crime and Punishment.\u00a0 She has worked extensively with community-based organizations that address feminist issues, particularly focusing on criminal justice, and has developed partnerships to sponsor projects and events. In 2007-2008, she was a fellow with the Women’s Policy Institute, sponsored by Women’s Foundation of California, working with other fellows to develop and pass state legislation extending the amount of time that parents in prison have to meet requirements for reuniting with their children in foster care. \u00a0She organizes a series of creative writing workshops each semester that brings together students at the Claremont Colleges and women incarcerated at the California Institution for Women. \u00a0She holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Santa Clara and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Stanford University.<\/p>\n

Marney joined the Intercollegiate Feminist Center for Teaching, Research and Engagement as program assistant in October 2016. She has been a member of the Claremont Colleges community since 2013, previously serving in the Office of the President and Board of Trustees at Scripps College. Marney is a native of Chicago, IL and is currently living in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. She holds a B.S. in Finance and M.A. in Economics from Eastern Illinois University, as well as an HR certification. She has greater than fifteen years\u2019 experience spearheading and coordinating diversity and inclusion initiatives in the public and private sectors.<\/p>\n

Outside of school, she loves to read, work out, go to concerts, the beach, and hang out with her friends. \nIndia<\/strong> is a freshman at Scripps College, double-majoring in film studies and English. She is from Costa Mesa, California, and is excited for the community that Scripps College and the IFC will bring. In her free time, she loves reading, filmmaking, and dancing.<\/p>\n

Emily Lauletta<\/strong>, Claremont Graduate University (emily.lauletta@cgu.edu<\/a>)
\nEmily<\/strong> is a graduate student at Claremont Graduate University, where she is pursuing her PhD in Cultural Studies. She received her MA in Applied Gender Studies from CGU in 2023 and holds a BA in gender and women\u2019s studies from Hollins University. Her research interests include feminist theory and feminist media studies, particularly feminist print media, and zines. In her free time, Emily also writes for BUST, a feminist pop culture magazine, and runs her own independent zine titled Arachne.<\/p>\n

\nNora<\/strong> is a junior at Scripps College, where she is double-majoring in Francophone Studies and History, with a concentration on the intersection of race and empire.<\/span> Outside of academics, Nora is active on campus as a captain for the Claremont Greenshirts Ultimate Frisbee team. Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, she loves to be outside, be with her friends, and visit museums, new coffee shops, or new cities!<\/p>\n

She is from Nanjing, China, and is passionate about community-based advocacy. In her free time, she enjoys photography, writing, and traveling.
