The Media Studies Production Center at Pitzer College is a professional standard post-production facility. Students have 24-hour access to a wide range of the latest imaging, editing, animation, sound and graphics software. Students are able to work in private editing rooms (we have 10 editing rooms), on new, fully equipped editing systems. We are a Mac-based production facility that uses Adobe’s Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Prelude, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, Flash) as the main software programs.

Multiple formats of professional quality video and film cameras (SD, HD, 24P, and 16mm formats) accompanied by a full complement of lighting and analog and digital sound equipment, a 16mm telecine, and sounds effects are available for student projects. We feature an unusually high camera/student ratio where students are almost always able to have access to the equipment they desire.

The Production Center also has a screening lounge where students can watch films and videos on a large screen. It’s a creative environment where some production classes are taught, and software workshops are held. Visiting artists and senior critiques also take place in the screening room.

Student workers from the five Claremont Colleges participate in all of aspects of direction and operation of the Production Center.
