MMUF National Network
MMUF is one of the Mellon Foundation’s “premier programs and the centerpiece of the foundation’s long-term effort to help remedy the serious shortage of faculty of color in higher education”. The goal of the MMUF program is to identify and support underrepresented students, and others with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity, who are interested in earning a doctorate in the core fields of arts and sciences and becoming future faculty.
The MMUF program is designed to encourage fellows to pursue academic careers, and thus reduce over time the historic underrepresentation of scholars of color (African Americans/Blacks, Latinos/as, and Native Americans) at colleges and universities. The program also serves to increase the commitment to diversity across colleges and universities through transforming campus environments into more inclusive and diverse spaces that foster the success of all students.
