What is the training about?

  • Provide resources and tools for students, faculty, and staff to become better allies to sexuality and gender minoritized people
  • Promote increased awareness and understanding about sexual orientation and gender identity and expression across The Claremont Colleges, as well as encourage continued learning
  • Promote a safer, more welcoming, and more inclusive campus environment in which students of all sexual orientations and gender identities can live and learn fully

Participants will learn about issues faced in the LGBTQQIA community, discuss homophobia and heterosexism, receive resources, and learn how to be an ALLY, all in a safe space.

What is an Ally?

An Ally is a visible member of the Claremont Colleges (staff, faculty, student) who is supportive of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, and asexual community, and is willing to provide a safe space and a ready ear to anyone concerned with issues of sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
