Whatever holidays you may or may not celebrate this time of year\, incarcerated folks are often denied the ability to celebrate their traditions in the ways they choose\, whether their desire be to celebrate the returning of light for Solstice\, the miracle of Hanukkah\, the birth story of Jesus\, the Black radical tradition of Kwanzaa\, New Year’s Day\, or something else. All too often they do not have family and friends to reach out to them with cards or visits\, making this time particularly isolating. Cringe whenever someone asks you\, “What are you going to be when you grow up?” or “What are you going to do with THAT degree?” Don’t know how to do what you love? Well\, we can’t solve all your problems\, but we can give you the tools to approach those difficult questions in a way that is fun and empowering.  \nIn this workshop\, we will apply some of the basic principles of design thinking\, such as brainstorming and prototyping\, to the “wicked problem” of figuring out what you’re going to do with your life. We hope to bust some myths about what this process is like\, introduce tools and frameworks that will help you understand yourself better\, develop a community of common ground and support\, and send you out the door knowing what to do next.
