SUMMARY:Ancestral & Indigenous Beadworking w/ Chiapas Support Committee!
DESCRIPTION:Tactile arts\, such as beading and weaving\, have been used for centuries as ways for community resistance\, collective and self-expression and story-telling in Indigenous and African Nations. Philip Brayley (PZ’19) has been doing bead working since he was a little one and most of his knowledge has been passed down from his mother\, an expert at the ancestral practice.  Brayley’s dexterity and wealth of knowledge has been passed down to him from her\, and from other Nation and family members. We’ll use different materials and techniques to unfold unexpected patterns\, using red and magenta dyes for spring!
