The Identity session focuses on each team member getting to know the next outside of the team context, to help build a culture of empathy and connection. This activity intends to emphasize the importance of each member’s identity and how it ties into the overarching team identity. Do this session in a flexible, open, and relaxed setting to promote honest reflection and open conversation.

If you have prototyping materials (i.e. glue, scissors, magazines, tape, pipe cleaners, fabric, cotton balls, buttons, etc.) available to you, use those. However, if you do not have materials for making, before the session, ask players to bring an item that they identify with (i.e. something that reminds them of home, a personal struggle they have been through, a hobby or something that brings them joy, a personal value or belief). Once you begin the session, introduce the activity, do a share-out, and finish with a group discussion.
