In return, we asked them to document and reflect on their experience and share what they gained from their roles in the form of a written blog.<\/p>\n<p>Here are our four grantees. Learn more from them about their internship experiences with their partner companies, their personal and professional growth, and the envisioned real-world impact of their work in their individual blog posts.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mira<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Shah<\/strong> (Pitzer &#8217;27) completed an internship with early-stage startup <b>ABCD<\/b> (American-Born Creative Desi), conducting user experience (UX) and market research. ABCD (American-Born Creative Desi) is a startup building a curated online marketplace to support South Asian Americans in connecting more deeply with their culture.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Zo Pancoast\u00a0<\/strong>(Scripps &#8217;25) completed an internship with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebetterlab.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Better Lab<\/strong><\/a>, a health design research organization that uses human-centered design to improve healthcare systems, services, and experiences.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Elizabeth Ortega<\/strong> (Pomona &#8217;27) completed an internship with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenjobsboard.us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Green Jobs Board<\/strong><\/a>, a specialized career platform focused on the climate, sustainability, and environmental sectors.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Amanda Oluwatosin Adaeze Eric<\/strong> (Pomona &#8217;25) completed an internship with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kounkuey.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kounkuey Design Initiative<\/a>\u00a0(KDI)\u00a0<\/strong>in Nairobi, Kenya, a global nonprofit organization that combines design and community development to create\u00a0<strong>\u201cproductive public spaces&#8221;:\u00a0<\/strong>well-designed, community-led projects addressing\u00a0environmental, social, and economic challenges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Hive experimented with supporting four 5C students who were awarded innovation and design internships with companies and organizations out in the world, who needed additional funding for living, travel, [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":245,"featured_media":0,"parent":3131,"menu_order":10,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_price":"","_stock":"","_tribe_ticket_header":"","_tribe_default_ticket_provider":"","_tribe_ticket_capacity":"0","_ticket_start_date":"","_ticket_end_date":"","_tribe_ticket_show_description":"","_tribe_ticket_show_not_going":false,"_tribe_ticket_use_global_stock":"","_tribe_ticket_global_stock_level":"","_global_stock_mode":"","_global_stock_cap":"","_tribe_rsvp_for_event":"","_tribe_ticket_going_count":"","_tribe_ticket_not_going_count":"","_tribe_tickets_list":"[]","_tribe_ticket_has_attendee_info_fields":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-5307","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
