\nThis semester, the Hive hosted lots of diverse and interactive events, and the Sharpie Art workshop was merely one of many. Facilitated by post-Bacc Timothy Moore, this workshop provided members of our community a chance to explore the use of an unconventional medium (the Sharpie) and how practicing mark making with this alternative medium can lead to unconventional opportunities. Participants were immersed in a multilayered experience where they explored themselves, the space, the tool, the canvas and contemporary artists such as Banksy, Shantel Martin, Keith Haring, and Timothy Goodman. Below, Hive student staff members, Akotowaa Ofori (PO \u201920) and Rhiannon Schaub (SC \u201920), interpreted the work created in this workshop in the form of poetry.
