Hack Week is a series of workshops on how to program, designed for both students (and any interested parties) with little to no prior coding experience, as well as those who have more experience. We will have teachers and mentors to help every step of the way so you will be ready to make something awesome at the 5C Hackathon!<\/p>\n

The workshops will be held from 7-9PM* on November 9-12, the week leading up to the 5C Hackathon on Friday, November 13.<\/p>\n

For those of you who have attended before, we\u2019re doing things a little differently this semester! Rather than beginner and advanced categories, we\u2019ll have topical workshops with clear prerequisites (ranging from little to no coding knowledge to those with experience in a programming language). As always, our code will be made available on our GitHub page. <\/p>\n

*Workshops will take place from 8-10PM on Thursday, November 12th. See times below for more details.<\/p>\n

Note: All workshops will take place on Pomona’s campus. We also strongly encourage attendees to bring their own laptops (preferably charged). Times are subject to change, but we’ll let you know if they do.<\/p>\n

Arduino
\n7-9PM in Millikan 0251 (Basement level of Millikan)
\nCome learn more about the Arduino electronic prototyping platform in this interactive workshop! Arduinos are easy-to-learn and tons of fun, letting you create everything from blinking lights to robots. You\u2019ll have the opportunity to work in groups under the instruction of Professor Dwight Whitaker from the Physics Department at Pomona, with no electronics or programming background required. <\/p>\n

Prerequisites: None.<\/p>\n

Note: This workshop can only host about 30 students so that group sizes are manageable. <\/p>\n
