Scripps Professor Martha Gonzalez<\/a>, Chicana artivista, singer, and scholar, will introduce her artistic and political social justice work through collective songwriting. She will explore her own background as a key member of Quetzal<\/a> which has helped shape her philosophy and practice of combining art and activism. In conjunction with a FGSS (Scripps) class and The Imperial University<\/a>, Professor Gonzalez will share the work she has done \u201cinside and outside\u201d of prisons. We will apply methods that are truly collective and that reshape our understanding of what we can do in classrooms (and the world) to learn and enact social justice.
