The choirs are open to all students by audition. The singers represent the four constituent colleges and a wide variety of academic majors, not only music, but majors in the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and other arts, as well.
Spring Semester 2026
Claremont Treble Singers (MUS 176; 0.5 CR at CMC, PIT, SCR, 1 CR at HMC) rehearses Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30-6:45 p.m.
Claremont Chamber Choir (MUS 174; 0.5 CR at CMC, PIT, SCR, 1 CR at HMC) rehearses Mondays and Wednesday, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
For those with classes or labs ending at 5:30 or 7:00, please still consider auditioning to sing in a choir with a slightly late arrival; discuss with one of the directors.
Many singers in the choirs also take voice lessons, which are available through the Scripps College Department of Music, or sing in an a cappella group.

The Claremont Concert Choir
The Claremont Concert Choir of Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer, and Scripps Colleges was created in the fall of 1963 with the combination of the Scripps College Women’s Glee Club and the CMC Stag Chorus. The choir is a 40-50-voice mixed ensemble of students and other community members. The Claremont Concert Choir specializes in major choral and orchestral works from the Baroque era to the 20th century, as well as a cappella motets and part songs from the renaissance to the present. The Claremont Concert Choir has performed with the Atlanta Symphony, the Santa Monica Symphony, the Utah Symphony, the Orange County Symphony, the Xiamen (China) Philharmonic, and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, as well as its regular series with the Claremont Concert Orchestra. Regular rehearsals are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Academic credit is available for the class (MUS 173, 0.5 CR at CMC, PIT, SCR, 1 CR at HMC) which may be repeated.
The Claremont Treble Singers
The Claremont Treble Singers of Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer, and Scripps Colleges was officially offered for the first time in Spring 2018 as the demographics of student bodies at the Claremont Colleges led to a reorganization of the Joint Music Program choirs. The 30-40 choristers of the Claremont Treble Singers specialize in music for soprano and alto voices from the middle ages to the present, both accompanied and a cappella. The ensemble also performs with the Claremont Concert Orchestra. Claremont Treble Singers regularly rehearses Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30-6:45 p.m. and can be taken and repeated for credit (MUS 176, 0.5 CR at CMC, PIT, SCR, 1 CR at HMC).
The Claremont Chamber Choir
The Claremont Chamber Choir of Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer, and Scripps Colleges may be offered in some semester. This is a smaller ensemble of mixed voices, with up to about 32 singers. Founded in 1977 , the Claremont Chamber Choir focuses on performing unaccompanied music from the Middle Ages to the present. Regular rehearsals are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Academic credit is available for the class (MUS 174, 0.5 CR at CMC, PIT, SCR, 1 CR at HMC) which may be repeated.

The choirs are members of the Pacific Southwest Intercollegiate Choral Association.
