Title: Modern techniques to approach the invariant subspace problem

Abstract:  The invariant subspace problem is by far one of the most important problems in operator theory. It has been open for more than half a century, and there are many significant contributions with a huge variety of techniques, making this challenging problem so interesting; however the solution seems to be nowhere in sight. In this talk we are going to present a technique born in the 90’s and developed in the last two decades that has contributed tremendously to approach the invariant subspace problem, becoming a very popular branch of operator theory and functional analysis, called linear dynamics.
