MMUF is one of the Mellon Foundation’s “premier programs and the centerpiece of the Foundation’s long-term effort to help remedy the serious shortage of faculty of color in higher education.” The goal of the MMUF program is to identify and support students with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity, and who are interested in earning a doctorate in the core fields of arts, humanities and selected social sciences and becoming future faculty. The Claremont Colleges MMUF program will select a new cohort of 10 sophomores (rising juniors) in spring 2017, with an annual cohort size of 20 juniors and seniors from across the colleges each year.
