Research With Not For: Participatory Design Workshop

Join Asha Srikantiah (Kounkuey Design Initiative) in this methods-based workshop to practice identifying research objectives, marrying it with interactive engagement, and capturing your findings to deepen your understanding for design.

Asha is passionate about building new initiatives that address real human problems and is excited by spaces where design, strategy and storytelling meet. Her love for stories led her to start her career in film and media, with roles in creative development at Viacom, New Line Cinema and JWT. She then pivoted her focus to use creative problem-solving for meaningful social impact. At Fidelity Labs, she led the development and implementation of the Student Debt Relief Program to increase financial equity for borrowers through financial literacy, employer-sponsored benefit systems, and legislative advocacy. Most recently, Asha was Director of Strategy at the Hive, a creativity and design center at the Claremont Colleges, and still teaches undergraduate classes in Human-Centered Design at Harvey Mudd College. Asha currently serves as the Managing Director of Strategy and Staff at KDI’s Los Angeles office. She has a bachelor’s degree in Film and Television from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications, and an MBA from University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.
