Men’s Rugby

Men's Rugby Huddle
The Claremont Colleges Rugby Program produces champions on the field, in the classroom, and in the game of life. Our student-athletes have the opportunity to compete for national championships in rugby, while gaining a top-notch education that sets them up to land highly-selective jobs upon graduation.
Over the last decade, the Claremont Men’s Rugby team has been the most dominant sports program at the 5Cs, advancing to the 15s national Elite Eight or further seven times (2010, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019) and the 7s national Elite Eight or further seven times (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020).  The Lions have also secured the USA Rugby Collegiate Division II 15s National Championship in 2010, the NSCRO 15s National Championship in 2017 and 2019, and the NSCRO 7s National Championship in 2018.  We were the first team ever to qualify for both the NSCRO 15s Final 4 and the NSCRO 7s National Championship in 2015-16.
The Lions play home matches Saturdays on CMC’s Parents Field, usually at 1:00 pm.  The team’s 7s season takes place during Fall Semester, with practices starting in mid-September.  The 15s season runs from Winter Camp in mid-January through late May.  All players are welcome, and no previous rugby experience is required.
