The Power of the Ping: Optimizing Your Team’s Electronic Communications

Workshops in the Collaboration in STEM series provide participants with tools and strategies they can use to strengthen their collaborations. Workshop topics, descriptions, dates, and times appear below. Claremont College students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend any or all workshops. To ensure a positive workshop experience for our participants and presenters, we will limit enrollments to 20 people per session. We will email you to confirm your slot in the workshop(s) you select. This series is offered by Prof. Mashek’s Psychology of Collaboration class at HMC and in partnership with The Hive.

The Power of the Ping: Optimizing Your Team’s Electronic Communications

Informed by psychological research, this workshop explores the impact of electronic communication on collaborative group work dynamics. The workshop consists of activities and discussions designed to promote understanding of relevant tools, strategies, and theories. You will explore common pitfalls in electronic communication, why they occur, and how to address them.
