Hive Summer Program
The Hive Summer Design Program was developed to directly engage with students’ needs and desires to apply design thinking in the world for positive social impact. The program addresses issues chosen annually by the Hive team based on current events and context. The summer program empowers passionate college students to solve ambitious and ambiguous problems through a combination of human-centered design, ethnography, and systems thinking. Small student teams are mentored by Hive staff and work directly with partner organizations that specialize in the issue(s) for that academic year.
Creative exploration, right-brained thinking, and fresh ideas from the next generation of leaders are vital to addressing complex societal issues, from climate change to racial injustice to public health crises. This program trains students in these methods and nurtures their great potential to become positive change makers in the world.
