Purpose

The Claremont Colleges have initiated a new program with the objective of fostering a diverse and skilled pool of faculty leaders. The program aims to equip faculty members with the necessary skills and knowledge to tackle the challenges of effective leadership and bring about positive institutional changes. Over the course of a year, faculty members from all seven campuses will participate in this program, which will enable them to build social networks and develop a deeper understanding of institutional and consortial challenges and opportunities. Through this initiative, faculty members will acquire key skills essential for successful, sustainable, and inclusive leadership.

Program Description and Eligibility

The Claremont Faculty Leadership Program is a year-long initiative that is open to three faculty members from each of The Claremont Colleges. Tenured faculty members at Pitzer College are eligible to apply. The program features a range of events, including both campus-specific and consortial gatherings. The consortial events will include opening and closing receptions with 7C academic deans/provosts, as well as a two-day conference with informative sessions covering various topics, such as multiple leadership pathways, crisis management, money management and advancement, and consortial collaborations. The conference sessions will also be applied during individual campus lunch events with program participants and senior administrators on their respective campuses, enabling the faculty members to delve deeper into the themes discussed during the conference.
