Ancestral & Indigenous Beadworking w/ Chiapas Support Committee!

Tactile arts, such as beading and weaving, have been used for centuries as ways for community resistance, collective and self-expression and story-telling in Indigenous and African Nations. Philip Brayley (PZ’19) has been doing bead working since he was a little one and most of his knowledge has been passed down from his mother, an expert at the ancestral practice. Brayley’s dexterity and wealth of knowledge has been passed down to him from her, and from other Nation and family members. This weekend on April 8th from 2-5pm come on down to the HIVE learn how to make earrings through indigenous weaving and beading techniques.
There will be snacks!!
